The objectives of the operational research were (1) to develop the model of learning activities of the subject ‘Educational and Classroom Research’ under the Bachelor of Educational Program in English Teaching, Mahamakut Buddhist University, Srilanchang Campus, and (2) to study satisfaction of the students with the model of learning activities of the subject ‘Educational and Classroom Research.’ The research was conducted under Kemmis & McTaggart’s concept of three steps: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research was engaged in three cycles of thirteen steps during the first semester of academic year 2559 – the first semester of academic year 2561. The target groups were sixty four-year English Teaching students, registering to study ‘Educational and Classroom Research (ED 1003).’ They were eighteen English Teaching students in academic year 2559, seventeen ones in academic year 2560, and twenty-five ones in academic year 2561.
The research findings were as follows:
1. The subject ‘Educational and Classroom Research (ED1003)’ consisted of the credit detail of 3(2-2-6): three credits, two lecturing hours per week, two practical hours per week, and six self-study hours per week. The recommendations for learning were found to prepare the classroom ready for the students to practice, to learn in the computerized classroom full of sufficient computers with the hi-speed Internet connection, and to learn in the afternoon after lunch to prevent the students from hunger.
2. Learning activities in the subject ‘Educational and Classroom Research (ED 1003)’ consisted of the following:
2.1 In terms of the learning process, there were various theoretical and practical approaches upon the subject specification. The learning content, hourly described and practiced, was aimed at classroom research approaches, based on real practice in every week, of each group’s work at the initial stage and individual work to develop their own classroom researches. The students were encouraged to analyze, synthesize, discuss, criticize and present their classroom research in the academic seminar in order to evaluate their learning.
2.2 In terms of instructional media and learning resources, used to support learning activities of the ED1003 subject, the recommendations were found to provide the students with sufficient computers with hi-speed internet connection, to assign the students the field study to study learning conditions and problems in the schools and to specify research problems, and to collect data from the schools in the field study.
2.3 In terms of learning evaluation, the evaluation was engaged in the present situations: class attendance, work presentation of the group and the individual every week, classroom research presentation of the group and the individual in the academic seminar.
3. The satisfaction of the students with learning activities of the ED1003 subject was found to be at the highest level every semester and its trend was found to be higher in the next semester. In the 1/2559 semester, the students’ satisfaction was found to be with the mean of 4.57, in 2/2560 with the mean of 4.58, and in 1/2561 with the mean of 4.64. The trend of the students’ satisfaction with the ED1003 subject was found higher every year.
